One business.
Led well.
For the long term.
KCT seeks to acquire one exceptional small business — to steward, grow, and operate with intention.
Approach
Built on conviction, not transaction.
I am looking for one solid business — profitable, proven, and prepared for its next chapter — to acquire and lead for the long term.
My focus is businesses with $1-10M in sales in the security, intelligence, and specialized technology sectors, where my operational and engineering experiences are a distinct advantage. I will be present in the business from day one as a hands-on owner: protecting the culture, investing in the people, and driving growth that lasts.
Core principles
First names come first
Before anything else, I’m James. I believe that partnerships must be built on trust - guiding everything from our first conversation to my commitment to protecting the legacy you have built.
Ownership means work
I am stepping in as a dedicated owner-operator, accountable for outcomes and physically present in the business. I am prepared to get into the trenches and lead from the front.
Stewardship trumps speed
This acquisition is my starting line, not the finish line. I am driven to steward a great team and build an enduring company, wherein the business is meaningfully stronger and its people better off a decade from now.
About the founder

My path has forged a unique blend of on-the-ground operational grit, real-world leadership, and high-level strategic thinking. My background rests on three components:
About KCT
A name with meaning.
KCT is named for my parents, Kristy and Calvin — who ran their own small business by the same name. Growing up, I watched them build something from nothing: a business that supported our family and stood on their values.
I carry the name as a tribute to their labor, as a testament to what a well-run business can provide, and as a personal commitment to the principles they lived: integrity, hard work, and the careful stewardship of what's been entrusted to you.
